Entering a Dog Show

Before entering a Dog Show there are several things to be considered.

• Your Coton has to have a full coat - he can never be cut down
• Weekly baths and grooming are necessary to keep the coat in a great condition
• Show training is a must - start training your puppy to walk in a leash as soon as possible
• Try to find someone who provides show training, it's really good for your dog and very good for you too.

I remember very well when I started a class in show training, I never thought I would get it. There were so many things that I had to think about.

My first challenge was to get my puppy to walk - and then when he walked, he just wanted to jump and play.

Well into the class when my puppy was walking quite nicely I was suddenly told that I had to straighten up. 

I was so exhausted and thought I would never make it. 

Three years later I am still learning but at least I feel more confident when entering the showring now and getting some great results with my little girl who loves to be in the showring helps too.
